The organizers of Akwaaba African Travel Market, the largest travel and tourism fair in West Africa, have announced the dates for the 2025 edition. 

The 21st edition of the event will take place from September 14th to 16th, 2025, in Lagos, Nigeria.

The three-day event is expected to bring together over 20 countries, making it a premier platform for travel and tourism industry stakeholders across Africa and beyond. 

Akwaaba African Travel Market has been a leading event in the African travel and tourism industry since 2004, known for its consistency in bringing together African travel professionals and facilitating connections, collaborations, and showcases of the diverse offerings of the African travel industry.

The 2025 edition promises to be a memorable experience, with the inclusion of several new and exciting initiatives. 

These include the 11th Wonders of Nigeria Expo, the 5th Aviation and Cargo Conference CHINET, the 4th African Medical Tourism Expo, the 9th edition of African Youth Tourism Bantaba, the 7th Jollof Rice War, and the African Tourism Conference.

The event has a proven track record of success, having hosted prominent African leaders, including the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu; former President Olusegun Obasanjo; former President of the Republic of The Gambia, Sir Dauda Jawara; and many others.

Akwaaba African Travel Market has received recognition for its efforts in promoting travel, aviation, hospitality, and tourism in Africa. 

The event has organized various initiatives, including the Africa Travel 100 Awards, African Medical Tourism editions, African Youth Tourism Bantaba, and Destination Wedding, earning an Award of Excellence in Tourism from the Nigerian Government and UNWTO at the Global Tourism Summit in 2022.
