It was a night of glitz and glamour in Lagos as creme d’ creme of the Nigerian society trouped out to celebrate with Barr. and Mrs. Allen Onyema as they clocked 25 years of marital bliss.
The venue of the event the Harbour point event centre on Victoria Island was filled to capacity as guest showered praises and greetings of congratulations filled the air for Mr. Allen and Mrs. Alice Onyema.
The Silver jubilee celebration was spiced up with live performances by Kcee, Tiwa Savage, Tu Face Idibia(Tubaba) Flavour and dances from different dance groups.
There was also a music performance by the youngest son of the celebrants who displaced his mastery in the use of saxophone.
There were varieties of foods for guest to enjoy as well as soft drinks and exotic wines used to entertain guests.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi while congratulating the couple for staying together in the last 25 years despite different challenges they have encountered, urged them never to stay apart and together they could surmount any future challenge.
He commended Barr. Allen Onyema for the achievement he had made in the aviation sector, applauding him for the recent delivery of its newly acquired Boeing 777-200.
“25 years is not a joke, you have come this far, please stay together”.
The Ooni presented a painting of the couple as a gift to them.
The Obi of Onitsha, His Majesty, Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, described Barr. Onyema as a worthy son of Anambra state.
The governor of Anambra state, Mr. Willy Obiano and his wife who graced the occasion in his speech said they were proud of the Onyemas for their contribution to youth development through employment and encouraging the youths to desist from acts capable of destroying their lives and the society.
Senators, members of the House of Representatives, politicians,past and present governors , oil magnets, artistes( actors, actress, musicians) religious organizations, stakeholders in the aviation sector, banks, traditional rulers from the North, South, East and West etc were all present at the celebration.
