Air Peace has strongly denied allegations of abandoning passengers and ticket racketeering at Owerri Airport on Sunday, April 7th, 2024.

The airline called a report by a news platform claiming these actions “outrageous” and “malicious.”

In a statement, the Management of the airline specifically addressed the claim of a passenger who said they were left behind on a Lagos-bound flight departing at 12:20 pm.

The airline stated that this passenger arrived after check-in closed at 11:35 am, as per standard regulations for domestic flights (closing 45 minutes before departure).

The airline emphasized that the flight departed on time at 12:20 pm after following proper boarding protocols.

It further refuted the claim that they prioritized passengers from other airlines over their own booked passengers.

They called this “absolute malicious falsehood” and assured that no passengers who arrived before counter closure were left behind.

The airline acknowledged the passenger’s inconvenience but stressed their commitment to on-time departures and adherence to safety regulations.

The Air Peace Management urged passengers to arrive at the airport well in advance to avoid missing flights.
