Air Peace, Nigeria’s leading airline, has partnered with Boeing and Cranfield University to bolster its safety culture and operational excellence.

The collaboration, under the Boeing Global Learning Institute (BGLI), aims to equip Air Peace’s leadership with advanced safety leadership skills and practical tools to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

A five-day in-person training program, themed “Advanced Leadership in Safety Excellence,” was conducted for Air Peace executives, postholders, and management leadership.

The program focused on enhancing safety leadership skills, transforming workplace safety culture, and implementing practical solutions to improve organizational performance.

“Boeing recognizes the importance of supporting continuous learning for our aviation partners,” said Harry Magui, Senior Organizational Consultant and Program Manager at BGLI.

“This program aims to develop leadership, business, and technical skills to improve business processes, increase operational efficiency, and strengthen teams.”

Prof. Graham Braithwaite, Head of Aerospace at Cranfield University, emphasized the program’s focus on addressing Air Peace’s specific challenges through real-world capstone projects.

Dr. Fabian Steinmann, Lecturer in Organizational Resilience and Change, highlighted the opportunity to share global best practices and adapt them to Air Peace’s operations.

Air Peace’s Safety Manager, Captain Godfrey Ogbogu, expressed enthusiasm for the program, stating, “This class is essential for Air Peace as we strive to stay ahead in the ever-changing aviation industry. The program reinforces our commitment to safety and operational excellence, and empowers us to build a more resilient and innovative workforce.”

The program’s curriculum combined theoretical insights with practical applications.

Participants were equipped with advanced tools and strategies for safety leadership, and were encouraged to implement their learnings within their teams.

Follow-up review sessions will ensure continued development and the advancement of safety projects.
