Air Peace has dismissed a viral video circulating online that alleges irregularities during the boarding process of Flight P47123 from Abuja to Lagos on December 20, 2024.
The airline described the video as “false, mischievous, and misleading,” emphasizing its commitment to safety and operational excellence.
In an official statement signed by Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications, Air Peace clarified that flight delays experienced on the day in question were caused by harmattan-induced haze and fog, common during this season.
According to him, these weather conditions significantly reduced visibility, affecting flight schedules across the country.
To mitigate disruptions, he said, the airline deployed three aircraft to Abuja to accommodate all affected passengers.
However, during the boarding process, passengers overwhelmed airport and airline staff, breaching the airside area.
Dr. Ndiulo says, this necessitated immediate intervention by duty managers and ramp officials, who set up barricades to manage the situation and ensure orderly boarding.
“We strongly condemn the misinformation and deliberate falsehood disseminated in the video. Such representations are not reflective of our values or operations”.
It urged the public to disregard the video and reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to passenger safety and satisfaction.
Air Peace also expressed empathy for its customers, apologizing for any inconvenience caused by the delays and thanking passengers for their patience.
The airline reassured the public of its dedication to maintaining safe and timely operations, despite the challenges posed by adverse weather conditions.
