The Management and staff of Air Peace Limited, on the 17th of May, 2024,  gathered to bid farewell to Andy Mekonnon Kassa, their esteemed Head of Aviation Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO).

After three years of dedicated service, Andy, originally from Ethiopia, is embarking on a new chapter, leaving behind a legacy marked by passion and commitment to aviation excellence.

Andy Kassa joined Air Peace three years ago as the Technical Service Engineering Manager and later transitioned to the role of Head of CAMO.

During his tenure, his extensive knowledge in aviation management significantly contributed to the airline’s airworthiness record.

He implemented rigorous safety protocols and enhanced the company’s maintenance standards, leading to improved aircraft reliability and overall operational efficiency.

The nostalgic gathering was filled with personal anecdotes and heartfelt messages, reflecting the close-knit community Andy helped foster at Air Peace.

Colleagues shared stories of his unwavering dedication, mentorship, and the positive impact he had on their professional and personal lives.

Hosted by the carrier’s Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema, who was in a poignant mood, the event saw him liken Andy’s departure to losing a family member.

However, he expressed confidence that their relationship would endure beyond Andy’s tenure. Dr. Onyema praised Andy as an aviator par excellence, stating, “Andy’s commitment to safety and quality has set a new benchmark for our operations. His contributions to the airline’s Maintenance and Planning departments have instilled a strong safety culture and technical expertise among our young engineers and his team. We are grateful for his leadership and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

In his address, Andy expressed gratitude to Dr. Onyema for his dedication and unwavering contributions to Nigeria’s aviation industry, which Andy now considers his second home.

He also thanked the Air Peace family for their support and collaboration over the years. “It has been an honor to work with such a dedicated team. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones. I look forward to seeing Air Peace continue to soar to new heights,” he said.
