Members of the Aeronautical Information Management Association of Nigeria (AIMAN) have been advised to maintain high standards in their duties to enhance aviation safety.
This advise was given by Alhaji Kabiru Gusau, General Manager of the Aeronautical Information Service (AIS), during the hand-over ceremony to the newly elected AIMAN executive.
Represented by Mr. James Olalekan, Quality Manager of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Gusau emphasized the crucial role AIMAN plays in the aviation sector.
He encouraged members to address critical needs within the association to ensure its effectiveness.
Gusau stressed that without AIS, the aviation sector would struggle to function efficiently.
He urged members to collaborate and work as a team, noting that great achievements are not the result of superhuman efforts but of teamwork.
Mr. William Ngerem, the immediate past president of AIMAN, also spoke at the event, advising his successor to cooperate with NAMA’s management team to succeed.
He praised the capabilities of NAMA’s staff, especially the Managing Director, and cautioned the new executives against writing petitions, which he said could hinder progress, advocating diplomatic engagement with management.
Ngerem acknowledged the wealth of knowledge within AIS and appealed to the new executives to leverage this expertise, regardless of their positions.
He reassured members that there was still hope for the licensing of AIS personnel and encouraged them to maintain their competence through internal certification.
Dr. Ibrahim Audu, the new AIMAN president, expressed gratitude to those who supported his election and called for collective efforts to drive the association forward.
He pledged to engage only serious-minded individuals for the overall development of AIMAN and warned against actions that could tarnish the association’s image.
Audu promised a productive tenure and committed to taking AIMAN to greater heights, starting immediately.
