“Inclusively, the derivable return on investment from the cooperative’s investments come back directly to the members who are the shareholders. Also, by default, members that had exited the system by virtue of statutory retirement still remain connected to these investments for a life time as shareholders”

According to him, the investment in no small measure has undoubtedly contributed to the GDP of the country’s economy adding that the second wing project which was conceived in the financial year of 2022 precisely, commenced with ground breaking activities on the 12th of December, 2022.

He noted that with the peculiarity of the prevailing economic realities orchestrated by the Government’s reform policies, the project encountered a variation that further delayed the initial delivery date of November 2023.

Giving kudos to the contractor, Strategic Shelter Development Company (SSDC) which have a long-standing relationship and understanding with them, was able to deliver the project on the 14th of October 2024.

He stated that facilities as contained in the new wing are better improvements on the old wing with a Dry Riser fire safety management system among others.

He urged both Cooperators, flying public, the aviation family and the general public to ease the high demand for hotel reservations around the airport vicinity with proximity advantage as it enhances a seamless connection of passengers to the airports.

Sadiq said “what we’re commissioning today is the finished structure as delivered with the electrical and other fittings including air conditioners fully installed in the respective accommodations”

He however solicited the support of esteemed stakeholders’ managements in the furnishing of the project as it is very critical to enable the commencement of business in the new wing in earnest.
