
….FAAN’s Queen Ajayi among honoured at MMS
In a grand ceremony held to commemorate the 2025 International Women’s Season, the MMS Women of Fortune Hall of Fame (WoFHoF) has honoured five outstanding women for their remarkable contributions to their respective fields.
The prestigious event with the theme “Accelerate Action,” celebrated the achievements of these women, who have made significant impacts in their industries and communities.
Among the honourees is Mrs. Queen Ajayi, Assistant General Manager, Training and Human Resources Development at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
She was recognized for her stellar contributions to the aviation sector and her tireless efforts in promoting gender diversity, professionalism, and humanity.
Other notable women who received the Accelerated Amazon award include Mrs. Florence Onweagba of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Ada Onwuka, a renowned economist, Dr. Ahmadu Binta, a medical doctor, and Mrs. Virginia Nzeribe of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
The event, which was attended by esteemed guests from various sectors of the economy, entrepreneurs, and individuals, provided a platform for women to extol the contributions of their fellow Amazons who have made a lasting impact in their fields.
The ceremony was a testament to the power of women’s empowerment and the importance of recognizing and celebrating their achievements.
In his remarks, Mr. Kingsley Anaroke, Convener of the event, emphasized that the MMS WoFHoF was founded to empower women in society through various means, including discovering and celebrating the sterling qualities and contributions of select women in Africa.
He noted that the hall of fame is dedicated to women who embody virtues, creativity, morality, professionalism, leadership capacity, courage, mentorship, and enviable womanhood.
The chief host, Chief Chinwe Ezenwa, highlighted the progress made by women in shattering barriers and overcoming stereotypes, but also acknowledged that there is still much work to be done to achieve true equality.
She reiterated the need to accelerate action on the objectives set forth at the Beijing Conference 30 years ago, where the world affirmed that women’s rights are human rights.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Oluwakayode Alonge, Group Head, Human Resources, Sifax Group, stressed the importance of empowerment, particularly women’s empowerment, in driving innovation and success across industries.
He noted that empowerment starts from within and that individuals must prioritize truth, integrity, and self-empowerment to achieve their goals.
The ceremony culminated in the decoration of the Accelerated Amazons by the chief host, assisted by the convener and the keynote speaker.
The recipients expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the honour, with Mrs. Queen Ajayi attributing her success to God and thanking her family and the organizers for their support.
The event was attended by members of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Women in Logistics and Transport, Nigeria, and their President, Mrs. Khadijat Sheidu-Shabi, among other dignitaries.
As the world continues to celebrate the achievements of women, the MMS Women of Fortune Hall of Fame has set a shining example of how to recognize and empower women who are making a difference in their communities.
The Accelerated Amazons of 2025 will undoubtedly serve as role models and inspirations for future generations of women leaders.
