The National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) is set to return to Abuja from November 22 to 30, 2023, with a reimagined format that promises to deliver a world-class festival.

Now in its 53rd year, NAFEST has been the premier cultural event in Nigeria, bringing together all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to celebrate and compete in various segments.

This year’s festival theme, “Connected Culture,” reflects the organizers’ commitment to fostering a sense of unity and shared heritage among Nigerians. The eight-day festival will feature a diverse range of performances, exhibitions, and competitions that showcase the best of Nigerian culture.

Some of the highlights of the festival include performances by Nigeria’s biggest stars and rising talents, stand-up comedians, and performing troupes. The book fair will also return, featuring a wide range of literary works and authors.

States will compete in the Swag Show, Dance-Off, and Sing-Off, while Dambe exhibitions and masquerades will add a touch of traditional culture to the proceedings.

NAFEST will take place at various venues across Abuja, including the National Stadium, Arts Village, and multiple galleries. The festival will also feature a Jollof Wars competition, where the best dish will be crowned, as well as exhibitions and panel discussions at eight galleries led by renowned curator, @rv_windsor.

The NCAC Honours gala will celebrate the festival’s ambassadors, while the NCAC colloquium will feature intergenerational conversations and reflections on shared heritage and culture.

NAFEST is a must-attend event for anyone interested in Nigerian culture, music, dance, and art. With its rich history and diverse range of activities, the festival is sure to be an unforgettable experience for all who attend.
