The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has successfully completed and inaugurated its long-abandoned regional office building in Port Harcourt.

The project, which was initiated over two decades ago, was brought to fruition by the efforts of the Acting Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Friday at the Port Harcourt International Airport, marked a significant milestone for the aviation regulatory body.

The state-of-the-art facility will serve as a hub for the NCAA’s operations in the region, overseeing key airports and airstrips in states like Rivers, Bayelsa, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Asaba, Anambra, Imo, Calabar, and Warri.

In his remarks, Capt. Najomo emphasized the strategic importance of Port Harcourt as a hub for energy, commerce, and tourism.

He stressed the need for world-class infrastructure to support the growing aviation sector in the region.

The Acting DGCA also expressed his commitment to delivering similar projects in other regions, including Kano and Enugu.

The Regional Manager of the NCAA’s Port Harcourt Regional Office, Oladipo Adebisi Titus expressed his gratitude for the completion of the project.

He noted that the abandoned building had been a source of embarrassment for the agency, as it reflected poorly on its image and the morale of its staff.

The new facility, he said, would significantly boost staff morale and enhance the agency’s operational efficiency.
